Corporate Leadership Award

Director, New York Group for Enterprise Fleet Management

Carl Grady, the Director of the New York Group for Enterprise Fleet Management, is an engaged corporate citizen whose influence has had a positive impact on local communities throughout the United States. Together with his dedicated team in the New York/New Jersey region, Grady has been recognized by other organizations and not-for-profits for his leadership and concern for society’s most vulnerable children and their families.

Grady lives by one of Enterprise’s strongest “founding values,” the “strengthening of our communities, one neighborhood at a time.” Since ACLD began its partnership with Enterprise in 2010, Enterprise Fleet Management has been directly responsible for improving the transportation experience for the people supported throughout the organization’s programs. Over these past nine years, Enterprise’s commitment under Grady’s leadership has allowed ACLD to remain ever-focused on providing exceptional services to children and adults, while ensuring families’ confidence in knowing their loved ones are well cared for in their travels.

Humanitarian Award

New York State Comptroller

Thomas P. DiNapoli is the 54th Comptroller of the State of New York. A life-long Long Islander, DiNapoli was raised in a middle-class, union household and saw the value of hard work and stretching every dollar in the example set by his parents. In 1972, he won his first election and served as a trustee on the Mineola Board of Education, becoming the first 18-year-old in New York State to hold public office.

In 1986, DiNapoli ran for the New York State Assembly and was elected to represent the 16th District in northwestern Nassau County for the next 20 years. Elected State Comptroller in 2007 by a bipartisan majority of the State Legislature, he was elected Comptroller by New York’s voters in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. He is known for his integrity,  independence and even-keeled leadership.

DiNapoli is a longtime supporter of ACLD, dating back to his days in the New York State Assembly. He has attended many ACLD events through the years, including the openings of residences and sites, earning him the admiration of the organization and the widely held esteem of the public he serves.
